English curiosities
A MAGIC EXPERIENCE WITH THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE
Walking through the streets of my city I found this haidresser's that has an English pun as title: Oh my cut! instead of the phrase Oh my god! The phrase for me was just hilarious.
For those who wonder and do not know, a pun is a joke that explotes the different possible meanings of a word or the fact that there are words which sound alike but have different meanings. So, with this anecdote I think is clear that out streets and public places (no matter if we are in London or Spain) are filled with English words, something that philologists like me enjoy very much馃挆

WHO THE HELL IS EDGAR?
I am a huge fan of Eurovision contest and this year Austria is going to send a song about how crucial is creativity when writing a song or doing an important activity. The two singers Teya and Salena presented this song as a kind of satire because as Tenya claims: "By presenting Edgar Allan Poe as the actual writer of the song, we want to draw attention to this frustrating part of the music business."
This is the link to the interview in case you want to read it: Interview Austria singers
Have you listened to the song? I personally enjoy the fact that the song addresses Poe and Shakespeare two of my favourite American and British authors. Also the song is really catchy and the video is just hilarious and very funny.
I leave you the link to the song on Youtube: Who The Hell is Edgar? Song
